San Fran - again

Another earlyish start, we made our way to the wharf - via "rail". After a very short ride, we got off at Pier 1, to take in the wonderful view (of the not so famous S/F bridge - even though it has more traffic on average per day). A brisk walk soon followed before we arrived at Pier 39 - home to shopping, retaurants and street performers.
Gathering a few souvenirs, we headed up the hill to see the most crooked street in San Francisco. It was rather interesting to see all forms of transport flocking to this area, with noone really paying attention to what was going on around them (cars, bikes, pedestrians etc) A quick "tram car" ride down the hill (rather scary - as "tourists" were hanging outside of the tram, before quickly shuffling back into the car - luckily missing the oncoming tram by inches!) then it was back to the Pier for lunch.
With time quickly passing us by, it was time for our cruise around the harbour, taking in two of San Fran's main attractions - the Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz. Seeing both up close (we went underneath the Bridge and circled Alcatraz 3 times) was amazing - the weather was mostly kind with the exception of the fog! We were still fortunate enough to see the bridge in quick glimpses. The boat surged through the water with ease. The fun started when the boat turned under the bridge, causing the waves to smash into the boat, as well as the howling wind, causing the boat to rise the dip quickly....quite a good laugh.
The end of our San Fran leg has come and it's time to head south, to a warmer climate (HOT!!!). Bring on San Diego!
